Endurocide® Privacy Screens

The next generation of hospital privacy screen - effective against spores, bacteria and fungi

Coming soon: the next generation of hospital privacy screens: made with replaceable fabric proven to be effective against spores, bacteria, mycobacteria and fungi!

Ideal for use in High, Intermediate or Low contamination risk areas, Endurocide® Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Privacy Screens offer a new infection control solution.

Practical, mobile and versatile, Endurocide® Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Privacy Screens are the flexible solution to quickly separating or dividing areas and providing fast patient privacy.

Benefits

Traditional fabric privacy screens have the potential to become sources of pathogenic transmission. Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs), such as C.difficile spores and MRSA, can remain on the screen’s surface for long periods.

Our next generation of Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Privacy Screen transforms all of this!

Breaks the chain of infection

Endurocide® Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Privacy Screens trap and kill pathogens on the surface of the fabric, helping to prevent the material from
becoming a source of pathogenic transmission.

Versatile

Ideal for single use in isolation wards and burns units, and also for long-term use in general and intensive care wards.

Long lasting

The fabric used on Endurocide® Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Privacy Screens has been tested and proven to remain biocidally active up to 2 years
after manufacture.

Easy to replace

Secured with velcro, the fabric is lightweight and can be quickly and easily replaced.

Self-auditing & privacy labels

Fitted with easy to read labels showing the date of installation. Labels are permanently bonded to the
fabric, helping to maintain your self-auditing system.

No laundry cost & 100% recyclable

Simply remove, replace and dispose! Manufactured from 100% recyclable polypropylene or can be disposed of as hospital waste.

Fire retardant

Meets international standards NFPA 701, AS 2755.2:1985 and BS 5867 part 2 Types B & C 2008.

How do Endurocide® Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Privacy Screens Work?

Comprising of four screens, mounted on swivel castors and manufactured from epoxy resin coated steel, Endurocide® Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Privacy Screens are lightweight, fold up for easy storage and can be mobilised in seconds!

The replacable polypropylene panels are impregnated with a unique, patented liquid biocide, proven to kill, spores, bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi and H1N1 Swine Flu, helping the screen from becoming a source of pathogenic transmission.

 tested against

At the manufacturing stage, the panel fabric is impregnated with our unique, patented Endurocide® Sporicidal Curtain Liquid, as well as a flame retardant chemical.

Endurocide® Sporicidal Liquid contains a highly effective blend of biocides proven to kill:

  • spores
  • bacteria
  • fungi
  • H1N1

Endurocide® Sporicidal Liquid works by coating the fabric with a biostatic polymer layer, which traps pathogens on the fabric, preventing them from multiplying.

Once the pathogens are trapped, Endurocide® Sporicidal Liquid:

  • kills spores by piercing through their spore coat and cortex, causing lethal DNA damage
  • kills bacteria by
    • preventing respiration
    • disrupting cell metabolism
    • inhibiting cell reproduction

International Standards

The fabric used in Endurocide® Antimicrobial & Sporicidal Privacy Screens have been tested in accordance with the following International Standards:

Bacteriostatic & Sporistatic testing

Bacteriostatic & sporistatic means that the fabric is capable of inhibiting the growth and reproduction of bacteria and spores.

The International Standards for bacteriostatic & sporistatic fabrics are AATCC 147 and CG 147. These tests are qualitative tests, ie they evaluate the fabric’s antimicrobiality.

New fabric "box fresh"

  • Spores to CG 147 & AATCC 147 - against C.difficile
  • Bacteria to CG 147 & AATCC 147 - against E.hiraeE.coliPseudomonas aeruginosa, MRSA and VRE
  • Mycobacteria to CG 147 - against Mycobacteria tuberculolis
  • Fungi to CG 147 & AATCC 147 - against Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans

1 & 2 year testing

The following testing has also been carried out on fabric1 year and 2 years after manufacture

1 year after manufacture

  • Spores to CG 147 - against C.difficile
  • Bacteria to CG 147 - against E.coli, Salmonella typhimurium and MRSA
  • Fungi to CG 147 - against Candida albicans

2 years after manufacture

  • Bacteria to CG 147 - against Acinetobacter baumanii, MRSA, ESBL E.coliKlebsiella pneumoniae, ESBL Klebsiella pneumoniae and VRE

Bactericidal & Sporicidal testing

Bactericidal & sporicidal means that the fabric is capable of killing spores and bacteria.

The International Standards for bactericidal fabrics are AATCC 100 and JIS Z 2801. These tests are quantitative tests, ie the number / reduction of bacteria is counted.

  • Spores to AATCC 100 & JIS Z 2801 - against C.difficile
  • Bacteria to AATCC 100 & JIS Z 2801 - against E.coli, ESBL E.coli, MRSA, Salmonella choleraesuis and Salmonella typhimurium
  • Fungi to AATCC 100 & JIS Z 2801 - against Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans

Endurocide® Sporicidal  Liquid

The following testing has also been carried on the liquid used to provide the antimicrobial and sporicidal coating on the fabric:

  • Viruses to EN 14476 - against H1N1 Swine Flu
