What makes Alcohol Free Enduro Hand & Skin products different?

The Alcohol Free Enduro Hand & Skin Range is one of the first water-based, alcohol free Hand & Skin disinfectants that meets the same performance and quick kill times as alcohol gels, yet is also effective against C.difficile spores.

On top of this the Enduro Hand & Skin range is:

  • Dermatologically tested - tested using a 24 hour skin patch test
  • Proven to offer antimicrobial residual protection for up to 4 hours after application.

Why was the Enduro Range created?

With the many daily challenges that Hospital Workers and Medical Staff face daily, we wanted to ensure Hand Hygiene was not another obstacle for workers to overcome.

We recognised that traditional products are not always suitable for repeated, everyday use by everyone, everywhere and that this could be a barrier to the products being used correctly.

In creating the patent-pending Enduro Hand & Skin range we wanted to offer one product that could be used throughout the whole hospital by patients, staff and visitors alike and that would offer quick, effective and safe protection against spores, bacteria, fungi and mycobacterium.

Where should I use the Enduro Range?

The Enduro Hand & Skin range is perfect for use throughout the hospital as well as in the home.

The Enduro Hand & Skin range is water-based and Alcohol Free and has been dermatologically tested using a 24 hour skin patch test which “showed no adverse dermatological effect when in contact with human skin for 24 hours”

Enduro Hand Disinfectant:
Long lasting, quick drying Enduro Hand Disinfectant is designed for everyday use on hands.

Enduro Hygiene Wipes and Enduro Patient Foam:
Use one wipe, along with one of two pumps of Enduro Patient Foam, for each part of the body and ensure wipes are discarded hygienically, according to your standard waste disposal procedures.

Common Sense Precautions:

In addition, the Enduro Hand & Skin range has also been tested to EN 14347 (a suspension test designed to evaluate sporicidal activity) against Bacillus cereus and Bacillus subtilis spores.

Has Enduro Hand Disinfectant been tested to EN1500?

Yes, Enduro Hand Disinfectant has been tested and passed EN1500 by the NHS Hospital Infection Research Laboratory, Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK.

This EN1500 test is designed to offer a direct comparison between water-based hand disinfectants and 60% propan-2-ol and assesses the number of organisms released from the finger tips of artificially contaminated hands after disinfection with both products.

Why is Alcohol Free important?

Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) is recognized as being a chemical which contributes to Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions.

VOCs are carbon containing chemicals that react with sunlight and the atmosphere to cause smog. There is growing concern worldwide about the use of VOCs in industry and in some non-medical industries there is a move to drastically limit the use of Alcohol in operations.

Additionally, Isopropyl Alcohol is flammable. It should be kept away from heat and open flame and needs to be stored in dry well ventilated areas.

Furthermore, Isopropyl Alcohol evaporates in open air very quickly, which means wipes and gels can dry out quickly.

Finally traditional alcohol hand gels have been known to stain hospital floors over time.

Whereas, the Enduro range of water-based and alcohol free products:

  • Have no flammability issues
  • Require no special storage arrangements
  • Do not evaporate in open air
  • Do not stain surfaces or clothing
  • Offer residual protection for up to 4 hours after application

What is the VOC content of Enduro Hand & Skin products?

Enduro Patient Wipes have negligible VOC Content.

Do water-based products last longer than other products?

Enduro Hand & Skin products are water-based and alcohol free and are designed to offer up to 4 hour residual protection after application. On top of this, the chemicals used in the Enduro Products are designed so that they do not evaporate immediately when in contact with the open air.

What material wipe material is used in Enduro Hygiene Wipes?

Enduro Hygiene Wipes are made of Spunlace, which is a soft yet tough material that offers a durable and pliable wipe for effective, longer lasting use - perfect for cleaning a patient’s body.

Does the Enduro Range have any special storage requirements?

No, there are no special storage requirements. Enduro Hand & Skin products are alcohol free and have no hazardous labelling.
