Summary:

Endurocide® Antimicrobial Plus Curtains were used in an ICU ward in a hospital in South Africa during the Coronavirus pandemic. The curtains were independently screen tested and found to be free of COVID-19.

Testing method

Swabs were taken from two separate Endurocide® Antimicrobial Plus Curtains being used in the ICU ward and independently screen tested by the hospital for the presence of Coronavirus nCOV-19 (COVID-19) using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test method.

Full description: "On Tuesday 5 May 2020 President Cyril Ramaphosa together with the Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize, Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Sihle Zikalala and members of the Provincial Command Council, conducted a meeting at the Archie Gumede House in Mayville, Durban discussing the province's response strategies and progress being made to flatten the curve of the coronavirus pandemic President Cyril Ramaphosa visited KwaZulu-Natal to assess the provincial response to the COVID-19 pandemic. President Cyril Ramaphosa with the Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize and Premier of Kwazulu-Natal Sihle Zikalala paid a visit to the Dr Pixley Isaka Seme Provincial Hospital in KwaMashu, north of Durban, which is one of the hospitals designated to manage COVID-19. President Cyril Ramaphosa with the Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize, Premier of Kwazulu-Natal Sihle Zikalala, Provincial Government and Stakeholders at the Agricultural Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg, assessed the state of readiness of the designated quarantine or isolation facility for patients."
